Karen B. Egozi

Board Member

Throughout her many years of professional as well as personal dedication, Karen B. Egozi, has been an invaluable contributor to various organizations dedicated to improving services related to healthcare, child care, and community awareness.

Currently Ms. Egozi is the Executive Director of the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida, presiding over an organization dedicated to providing direct client services to people with Epilepsy. With offices located in Miami, Broward, Palm Beach and Jacksonville, The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida geographically represents 40% of the entire state of Florida.

Before joining the Epilepsy Foundation, Egozi served as the Vice-President of Administration for the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe County. The Early Learning Coalition manages all federally-subsidized child care funds in both counties and strives to improve the quality of child care in South Florida in order to fully prepare our children as they enter kindergarten. As Vice-President, Ms. Egozi’s responsibilities included administrative, fiscal and personnel management.

Prior to joining the Coalition, Ms. Egozi was the founding president of KBE Marketing Management, a Miami-based consulting agency that provided project management services to both the private and public sectors.

Ms. Egozi also served as Executive Director of a national public opinion research consulting firm, Bendixen and Associates, and as Chief Executive Officer of Voices For Children Foundation, a South Florida non-profit organization that supports abused and neglected children through the Guardian Ad Litem Program.

In addition to her several philanthropic affiliations within the community, for the past three years, Ms. Egozi held an appointed position to the Board of Directors for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta.

A native Floridian, Ms. Egozi received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in marketing from Florida State University and has undergone extensive undergraduate training in grant writing and non-profit management.
