Ana Padron

Lead Instructor

2007 - Present

Award-winning Argentina Tango dancer Ana Padron is one of the top performing dancers in the world today. Her style is energetic, sensual, rhythmical, and innovative, and through her fluid moves she fuses Nuevo tango with the close embrace look of traditional tango. Her experience is vast and recognitions numerous.

An Honors graduate from the University of Florida, Ana’s degree in Fine Arts allowed she burst into the world of competition with a bang.  Surviving a rigorous selection process that began with the screening of nearly 7,500 applicants aspiring to be a part of the unique event, Ana was awarded Honorable Mention in the Dance/Tango category for the 2001 Arts Recognition & Talent Search week, which is held every year by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts located in Miami, Florida.  As well in her list of accolades, during 2002, Ana was awarded a scholarship from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts to attend the Alvin Ailey intensive summer course of dance in New York City and at the 2002 International Dance Organization (IDO) USA Professional Argentine Tango Championships, Ana was named Reserve Champions. The following summer, she received a full scholarship from the Dance Theater of Harlem to participate in its 2003 intensive summer course in New York City.

Diego and Ana Tango for All, the dance company she co-founded, was brought to life to bring this electrifying tango to audiences both in the United States and throughout the world. Tango For All was carefully selected in representation of their desire for others to understand that “tango has no boundaries, neither between cultures, or nationalities.

Ana has commanded a wide range of dance disciplines from which she continues to find inspiration for her movements.  In addition to Argentine Tango, these include Classical Ballet, Jazz, African, Jose Limon, and Martha Graham techniques.  She continually relies upon and hones these techniques and skills since being introduced to Argentine Tango while at New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida.

Her flourishing career continues.  In January 2008, Ana traveled to Italy to participate in the 2nd International Tango Festival in Alessandria, where she both performed and taught Argentine Tango.  In Milan, she performed in the successful production, Milonga Mariposa and was a lead performer in The Four Seasons tango show, directed by Fernanda Ghi and Guillermo Merlo.

While in Kuala Lumpur in May 2008, Ana was once again honored with an award for her “dedication to Argentine Tango as a form of expression through dance, and for expanding knowledge of the dance through teaching.”

At a very young age, Ana has already radiated her love of tango to audiences, bringing them to their feet in applause over many years, and in many nations.
